I was hired by GM Studios in early 2022 to direct their design and art direction department. We knew Random Ravers would be our first flagship NFT project. We didn’t just want to tell the NFT community what we could do. We wanted to show them. So we put our words into action. To prove we could build and launch a collection, we went ahead and did exactly that. I was in charge of the branding, overall art direction and production design of the 10.000 NFT collection M.U.G.S.
10,000 pristine and uniquely crafted NFTs. Each MUG raytraced at 1,920 by 1,920 pixels, born from pure obsession. I designed a custom composite pipeline for the generation of the collection, generated by a team of 6 in 3 months of production. The M.U.G.S. we're designed in Cinema 4D and rendered in Octane.
Within each of the 28 creative categories, M.U.G.S. have 264 variations in ligthing, texture and FX to add uniqueness and value to each one and avoid the "copy & paste" feeling that most NFT collection had at the time. They feel tactile and unique. Designers and Illustrators of the team produced 460 original design motiffs to add personality and a human touch to the renders.
After the launch of M.U.G.S I wrote a overview of the production and rarity system of the collection 10.000 images, feel free to check it out to learn more about it:
First, we launched a teaser campaign ahead of revealing the concept behind M.U.G.S.

10,000 pristine and uniquely crafted NFTs. Each MUG raytraced at 1,920 by 1,920 pixels, born from pure obsession. That’s over 36 billion pixels in total, all dedicated to a single idea: community. One mug. One voice.
As part of the growth campaign, we developed a strategy that included creating a unique collection for the first 500 users to join the community. The Early Risers Collection featured custom M.U.G.S, with each token forming part of a rising sun animation emerging from within the mug itself. We produced teasers and a launch trailer for this limited-edition drop, inviting NFT collectors to grab their M.U.G.S. and join the table.
10.000 M.U.G.S were produced in Cinema 4d with Octane with a automitized propietary pipeline for composition of 2D designs and illustrations on each M.U.G.S. You can admire the entire collection on OpenSea at: https://opensea.io/es/collection/m-u-g-s
